Pastel rainbow eyeshadow
If you’re not a makeup maven, you may prefer pastels over bright, vivid hues. Not to worry, your favorite Moody mamas have got your back. Reach for your pressed eyeshadow palette and let’s get to work! This light shimmer eye shadow look will look good on any eye color of all ages!
Start with a dab of Sprite eye color in the inner corner of your eyes. This gorgeous shade of lime green resembles sage or sea foam, and is perfect for making both blue and brown eyes pop. You can even bring the color down beneath your pretty peepers to highlight them even more.
Next, grab some Goldilocks eyeshadow and dust a generous amount onto your shadow brush. Apply to the center of your eyelid until you achieve the desired depth of pigment. This peachy pressed shadow gives us orange sherbert vibes.
For the final step, we’re calling in backup from our Moody Mineral Face Blush in the shade Pinky. Fortunately, our mineral blushes can easily double as eyeshadows, and are just as vivid. Pinky is a bright, bold shade of blush that blends beautifully with Sprite and Goldilocks.
Once you’ve applied Pinky blusher, your look is near complete. A few finishing touches, and you’ll be ready for a brunch date by the beach, or to march in a parade for Pride. First, you can fan out your shadows to your brow bone for an exceptionally eye-catching look. Another way to take your rainbow shadow look to the next level is to top it off with a thick black wing. Or, if you want to accentuate another feature on your face, play up your pout with some pretty pink lipstick.
Tips for applying eyeshadow
Equip yourself with the right tools
The trick to achieving flawless makeup looks is having the right tools in your tool kit. In other words, you ought to invest in a quality set of brushes. Thankfully, your Moody Sisters have made it easy to get a great set of brushes without breaking the bank. Our Natural Vegan Makeup Brushes are cruelty and dye-free, and apply product softly and smoothly. The large shadow brush blends shadows beautifully, without leaving leftover residue.
Prime your eyelids
Just like a fresh coat of paint on your house, you need to prep and prime your eyelids before applying your eyeshadow. Make sure your face is clean, then apply a dab of the Moody Sisters Makeup & Face Primer for flawless application of your eyeshadow, foundation, and more.
Pick your palette
All of these steps mean nothing if you haven’t picked your eyeshadow palette! In this case, we’ve chosen the rainbow as our inspo, but you can go with something more neutral if you prefer. Or, if you’re feeling like channeling your dark side, you can try a sultry smokey eye. Pick three colors that go well together to create a completely new look using the same application technique!
Blend, blend, blend
Last, but not least, you’ve got to blend your eyeshadow so that it looks cohesive. Grab your large shadow brush and blend depending on how natural or defined you’d like your shadow to look. Note that blending your makeup can cause excess powder to fall on your face, so you’ll want to go in after with an all-over face brush to dust that away.
