Best Ways to Wear Pink Eye Shadow

Tips for Pulling Off Pink Eyeshadow

Attempting the perfect pink eyeshadow is risky. If applied too hastily, you might end up looking hungover, sickly, or plagued with pink eye. However, if applied correctly, pink eyeshadow may actually soften the skin, and enhance your inner beauty. The best part of playing with pink shadows is that you can go as delicate or dramatic as you’d like, based on the occasion and look you wish to achieve.

Ways to wear pink eyeshadow

Here at Moody Sisters, we believe in putting your products to good use and making the most of your cosmetics. Versatility is the name of the game, which is why we formulate our products for many uses. And our eyeshadows are no exception! The following are just a few ways to wear pink eyeshadow, but don’t let your imagination stop there!

As an all-over eye color

Let’s get the obvious out of the way first, and say that you can rock pink eyeshadow as an all-over eye color if you please. Sounds pretty daring, but if you choose an eyeshadow that’s soft and subtle enough, this is a look you can do daily. Leia and Princess are two of our best-selling pink Pressed Natural Eyeshadows. Both shades are understated enough to be worn alone or with another of your favorites from our collection.

 To accent your eyes

Are you blessed with a set of baby blue eyes? If the answer is yes, then pink eyeshadow may just be your best friend. The various hues of blush and rose accent both blue and green eyes beautifully, only adding to their allure. For blue eyes, we’d recommend applying either Arwen or Jellyfish, while colors like Coral or Goldilocks look gorgeous when paired with green. Emphasize your unique eye color by sweeping some shadow along your lash line, or to the inner corner of the eye. Just a pinch of pink pigment can go a long way in making your eyes really pop.

In place of blush

If you’ve been using eyeshadow strictly on the eyes, we’re here to tell you you’re doing it wrong. Try swapping out your blush for a pretty pink eyeshadow, and see what a difference such a small change can make. Choose from shades including Jellyfish, Coral, and more, or mix it up and wear a different color each day of the week. With shimmer factored into the formula, your skin will appear glowing and radiant, especially when it catches the light.

As a substitute for lip color

Ever look at one of your eyeshadows and wish you could wear it as a lip color? What if we told you that you can? All you need is a bit of lip balm or sheer gloss and your shade of choice! Before getting started, make sure that your lips are soft and smooth, and aren’t chapped. Then, apply as much or as little pigment as you’d like. Pat on the color over your balm or gloss and you’ll be good to go!

Best shade of pink for your skin tone

We’re of the opinion that you can pull off any shade of pink no matter your skin tone. However, if you wish to compliment your skin’s undertones, we’ve got some great recommendations for you!

Warm undertones

Ladies with warmer skin tones should opt for colors that have yellow or gold undertones. Such shades will bring forth your beauty, and enhance your skin’s natural radiance and glow. Goldilocks, Precious, Fortune, Force, and Coral are our choices that pair perfectly with warm undertones. Opt for one of our customizable palettes to mix and match your favorite colors and add some selection to your routine.

Cool undertones

Cool skin tones are best complimented by shades of pink with blue undertones. Baby pink, fuschia, and plum tend to have hints of blue to flatter your facial features. Jellyfish is a best-seller with blue undertones, that looks phenomenal whether worn as a shadow, blush, or lip color.

How to do pink eyeshadow

#1 Select a soft enough shade

If you imagine the color pink as a bright, blooming rose or a fluorescent highlighter, you may feel hesitant. But just like every color on the wheel, pink has countless variations. You can be as bold or reserved as you’d like, as long as the shade you select fits the occasion. Some of our softest shades include Leia and Princess.

#2 Contrast your colors

Creating contrast will add dimension to your eyeshadow, and bring out the beauty of your eye color. For the best of both worlds, pair your favorite cool and warm toned shadows for a look you’re sure to love.

#3 Focus on one feature

Whether you want to emphasize your eyes, make your lips look luscious, or give your complexion some color, you want to be certain to focus on one feature. If you attempt to do all three at the same time, you may find your look to be overdone and far from appearing to be natural.

#4 Rely on eyeliner

If you’re not quite ready to take the leap with pink eyeshadow, start small with an eyeliner instead. Eyeliner is a great way to incorporate a color that you’re not yet sure about. It’s subtle, yet surprising, and allows you the opportunity to see whether you really like a certain look on yourself.

#5 Add emphasis with glitter

Finishing a look with a pinch of glitter adds glamour and mystique to your makeup. Pearly or frosted finishes takes away from any residual redness on your face, such as rosey cheeks or dark under eyes. Not to mention, who doesn’t want to stand out with a smidge of sparkle.
